Geographer by degree and limnologist by heart, Igor Ogashawara found through remote sensing the opportunity to connect these two areas. Studying tropical limnology in High School, his B.S. degree in Geography  allowed him to relate climatology and remote sensing to ecological dynamics of inland aquatic systems. His work is focused on environmental sciences, especially in the monitoring of water quality.
